Geocache Description:

BSA Troop 379 of Atlanta hid a cache on 2/22/14.  The original Troop 379 scout members who hid the cache are George, Perry, Avery, Ross, Connor, Benjamin and Jack.

Original items include- Troop 379 travel bug with patch (see - Troop 379 Atlanta Area Council Boy Scouts), FTF coin, fishing knife, Bushnell BB rifle scope, MRE fire starter, Atlanta playing cards, charged old school Blackberry with no service, but 911 works, composite fire sticks, box of matches, 3 ft. of paracord, 2 hottie hand warmers, Cows bic lighter, Business Telecom Equipment flashlight pen, keychain compass, 2 AA batteries, geocache pencil, geocache logbook, 2011 Cub Adventure Weekend patch, geocache collector pin, Malibu Grand Prix game token, ten pieces of pyrite fool’s gold.

The only public access to the cache is to travel north out of Ellijay, go north past mile marker 18.  Go east on Rock Creek Road.  After about five miles and after the road turns to gravel you will begin to ascend Cold Mountain and see the ranger station on the left side of the road.  Enter the gravel jeep trail on the right side across the road from the ranger station.  Depending on the time of year and road conditions, the gate may be closed or open leaving you to either hike or four wheel drive.  Follow this road for about five miles.  Pass a closed gate for another 1/2 of mile to the road end at a final creek. Look for a water fall up from the road.  The cache will be at the base of a tree.
