Geocache Description:

A series of four caches on the West side of Wainui Hill. Not enough for a power trail, perhaps, but as they are next to tracks created to maintain power lines, and can be done on a loop walk, let's call them a "Power Circuit".

Series blurb

As a street walker, it's important to walk all streets, paths, tracks, etc in the local area. There was a bit of unfinished business on Wainui Hill that looked like it would make a nice circuit: straight up a steep, direct route, down the road a bit, then turn left to descend a 4WD track that provides access to two power pylons, then finally a link track that sidles back to the bottom of the steep track. I thought I'd leave a few caches behind to share the circuit with fellow cachers.

All of the caches are berocca tubes covered in black tape. Each one is at the base of some sort of planty thing. The whole circuit won't be to everyone's taste. However, all except number 2 can be reached on pretty reasonable tracks from a couple of different entry points.

This cache

A gentle introduction to the circuit, just a short walk up from the trailhead at the end of Tunnel Grove. The cache is on the left side of the track, just before you get to the fork in the track. After finding the cache, it's decision time; head up the nasty, prickly, steep track to #2, or sidle round to #4. Hmmm.
