Lanna Folklife Museum Traditional Cache

This micro cache is located at the Lanna Folklife Museum, though not inside the building itself. The cache is in a quiet part of the compound, so access is simple, though the compound does close at night. Take time to enjoy the quiet surroundings of the garden. Yet beware of muggles who might be sitting nearby.

Across from the Three Kings Monument, this white colonial style two-storey building still displays the sign that says "Municipal Court of Chiang Mai", though the interior has been renovated to showcase Northern Thai (i.e. Lanna) heritage.

The Lanna Folklife Museum features 13 exhibits related to religion, culture, ways of life and costumes. The exhibits are presented in a "modern format which lets you touch certain displayed items such as local ingredients or some life-size models". The displays have information in both Thai and English - which is rare for this part of the world. The museum also employs student volunteers to act as guides for Chinese tourists.

The Lanna Folklife Museum is a good start for those heading for Chiang Mai and want to learn about the culture and people of the North.
