This is a series on Subdivisions that are in and around Elizabethtown. They all have a history all their own
“ Some will sell their dreams for small desires
Or lose the race to rats
Get caught in ticking traps
And start to dream of somewhere
To relax their restless flight
Somewhere out of a memory of lighted streets on quiet nights..."
”Rush”
Dating back to the late 70’s Bluegrass Estates consist of a main road (Bluegrass Road) with several branch off roads named for horses that have won the Kentucky Derby. Most of the homes are modest single story homes with some tri and bi-level sprinkled in. One feature that most residents are not fond of are that the subdivision is used as a short cut to access Tunnel Hill Road. This problem has been partially alleviated by installing two four way stops on Bluegrass Road to slow down cars cutting through.
