Leicester Fire Station dates back to the days of civic pride. It is large, well decorated, and situated to be seen down the length of de Montfort Street; the photos required standing in the middle of the street to maintain symmetry.
It is still fully functional as a working fire station β donβt get in the way if the sirens go off!
Stealth will be needed. Quite apart from the firefighters there are residents, college students, university students, office workers, a nearby burger van, and passing traffic. But the cache is in an obvious spot at about 1.4m above ground, so just grab it as you go by! There is a seat a few metres away up Lancaster Road to sit and sign the log.
The cache container is an appropriate colour. Please make sure it is out of sight when you put it back.
Note added November 2016 after email discussion with vix.s:
Apparently one of the firefighters is a geocacher, so don't be surprised if you get help from the emergency services. On the other hand, as they work shifts, don't rely on it!
