Geocache Description:

This poor soul would have been born in an area rich with pine trees, palmettos and pastureland along old highway 54 near Odessa. He apparently challenged the speeding cars one too many times and found his final resting place near a large oak tree next to the highway - a spot memorialized by the original "Victim of the Old Highway" cache (GC441R2).

Eventually, the old two-lane road became a major highway. And more recently, thousands of houses are being built on the "Victim's" home land. So...

What are left of his remains have been brought to this quiet preserve in New Port Richey - where they can at last rest in peace. I'm sure he will welcome guests, however, in the form of geocachers who come to gaze at his face in return for a smiley face of their own.

Note by cache owner, posted March 14, 2020 - The original white tail deer skull that was a part of this cache has gone missing. Now the cache is just a match holder on a hook.
