Your local Geocaching Organization began as an idea between several geocachers, got traction when a few more folks caught the vision, and came into reality in March 2009 when several months of paperwork were completed and GeocacheAlaska! Inc. was born. We're a 501(c)(3) Nonprofit corporation, formed for the purposes of Advocacy (working with land managers to allow geocaching on public lands), Education (working to expand geocachers' abilities and introduce the game to interested members of the public), and Socializing (hosting events like this one to bring geocachers together in a variety of settings).
This evening will be a low-key event, where we swap those great stories and make plans for the summer.
