Geocache Description:


The short-line railroad from Cottage Grove to the Umpqua National Forest in the early 1900’s stimulated the construction of over twenty mills along the Row River. The community of Culp Creek grew up around the saw mill across the river. Residents worked day and night to meet the demand for lumber orders. Over the years, mills consolidated, closed, or moved to other areas.
