Geocache Description:

My wife loves to cook and to bake.  I lucked out!  Recently, I’ve noticed that some of the containers that she throws away would make perfect geocache containers.  So I took it upon myself to intercept these containers before they hit the recycle bin.  I cleaned them out and wrapped them up in camo tape.  I think I took extra special time cleaning out the vanilla frosting container… see the sacrifice I make for my fellow geocachers?!?

Four containers are hidden in various locations where we frequently visit throughout Atlanta.  Written on the lid of each of these four containers are numbers that will lead you to the final cache located in our hometown of Newnan (if you choose to hunt for it).  Due to the distance between these locations, I don’t expect anyone to complete all five caches in one day – unless you want to spend a good deal on the road and a bunch of gas.

GC4Z852 Bake the Cake: Chopped Nuts (Acworth)

GC4Z85E Bake the Cake: Peanut Butter (Stone Mountain)

GC4Z861 Bake the Cake: Vanilla Frosting (Peachtree City)

GC4Z86H Bake the Cake: Margarine (Atlanta Airport)

GC4Z878 Bake the Cake and Eat it, too! (Newnan)

You are looking for a container that once was used for chopped nuts.  The parking coords will take you to the parking lot of the dog park.  It is open from dawn until dusk but I don’t recommend hunting for it in the early morning during hunting season.  The trail will get you within 100 feet and then it’s a slight uphill climb from there.  There are a few other caches in this area for you to enjoy!  Do not use the parking coords if you decide to approach this cache from the south but the muggle factor may be higher.  Also, if the trail is closed, you’ll have to approach it from the south because it’s on the edge of the tree line and not on the trail.
