The truth is, I've known Skinner879 for a lot longer than I've been geocaching, and it was pure coincidence that we both drifted into this whole geocaching thang. I've visited her at her place of work many times over the past two decades...heck, I suspect that sometimes, when I've dropped a boatload of work on her desk, she's felt that she's OD'd on me...ha! And I've OD'd on Skinner geocaches...of the 98 caches that she's hidden so far, I've visited 94 of them, so she's definitely helped to up my smiley collection!
But that's not the reason for the title of this cache. Cache title has everything to do with the person and the location. We first met at the nearby establishment. A few years back, I was considering hiding a geocache in honor of her in this very parking lot but, as I was ironing out the logistics, SHE went and hid one instead! But her cache has been archived for a while now and, today, after one of those aforementioned visits to her place of work, a mischievous grin spread across my face and I thought, "Hey, let's hide that long-delayed Skinner cache not far from where her archived cache used to be!" Fortunately, I had an old container for one of my own archived caches, so I was able to place the cache.
About Skinner: Skinner is an all-around great person, who has always bent over backward to help me out in my business. She's a prolific geocacher, a generous person, someone with a good sense of right and wrong, and an active individual in organizing caching events and contributing to this geocaching community. Additionally, Gamer Son and I had a team-up with her and LtDan a couple of years back on some caches, and she and I have had other unplanned team-ups when we've sought FTF's together...and I can attest from first-hand experience that she is definitely a persistent seeker!
This is a two-stage multi-cache. At the listed coordinates, you are seeking a silver plate with five sets of numbers on it. To determine the location for the final, perform the following mathematical calculations (you can pick up a calculator at the nearby establishment if you need one!).
STEP 1: Combine the tens digit and the units digit of the third number, then subtract that two-digit number from the North coordinates.
STEP 2: Calculate the sum of all the digits from the second, third, fourth and fifth sets of numbers. Subtract that sum from the West coordinates.
You are seeking a black bison. If you find a large rock that is definitely not where it is supposed to be, you are right on top of it (please put the rock back when you're finished, on top of the cache). Log only.
Non-required but recommended: If anyone has any memories, stories or positive reflections involving Skinner879, please post them here.
Please make sure to re-cover the cache container with the natural camo that is preventing it from being seen by muggles.
Have fun...and cache on!
