Since I now live close by, I have gotten to know the Beaumont Area Trails pretty well. They crisscross the neighborhoods and connect Harrods Hill Park, Beaumont Preserve Park and Cardinal Run South Park. You will often find those wanting fresh air here on the trail getting some exercise.
Before I get started with the clues, it is recommended that this be done on a bike, but nothing says you cannot walk it. It is a bit over a mile round trip, so choose your mode of transportation and let this set your expectations. It is not a park and grab.
On to the clues...
- You will find a helpful and colorful sign at the posted coordinates.
- From the sign, travel down the purple path. Know that purple is a secondary color and know what secondary colors are composed of.
- Cross the road at a color change. You will find a handy dandy crosswalk and flashing lights to help you across.
- Continue down the purple path on the same bearing as before.
- When you reach a trail junction and must change bearings, it is time to leave the path.
- Continue of the same bearing from the purple path off the trail until you find the towering, man-made pillar.
- You are at GZ so start looking. You should be quite close to a busy road. Stay on this side of the fence.
You are looking for a small plastic container. Please bring your own writing instrument just in case. Also bring your own stamp if you are into that sort of thing.
