Drive out of south out of Ukiah on Soap hill road for a few miles and there is a turn off to the right that is the entrance to Birch Creek Wildlife area that is open in the summer for ATV's, Antler hunting, hunting, great views and good chance of seeing elk and other wildlife.
Today (02-27-2014) is when a local friend of alot of ours, Ian, would have turned 25, however he passed away couple months after his 17th birthday. Not gonna get into detail about it.... After his funeral, 6 of us met up at this place on the hill and we cried together and we talked about good times with Ian. We poured a PBR on the ground in memory of him and released all of our balloons that had our final goodbyes on them. So today is his official 25th birthday and I wanted to do something a little special in honor of him this year and place a cache for people (even if you didnt know him, he was awesome) could share a moment of silence in the passing of a friend that was taken way to early. RIP my friend. We Love you so much.
