Geocache Description:

This is #15 in the Puzzle and Grab series. I love solving puzzles as they give me something to do when I am unable to get out and cache. I also wanted to add some easy finds to the area so all these caches should be quick and easy finds after you solve the puzzle.

In 1971, after a three year study ordered by the U.S. Congress, the National Beaurau of Standards suggested that the conversion to metric units was already underway and that the goal was that this transition was to be complete in 1985. That was 30 years ago and the conversation continues with no massive change. In fact the USA is one of three countries that has not officially recognized the metric system.

Here is a video that explains some of the wonderful, perfectly reasonable conversions that must me made within the great Imperial system that we use.

The cache is at North 34 7.A West 80 52.B where

A = furlongs in 2 miles * hands in a yard * (nails in a span + 1)

B = sticks in a hand * shatments in a pace * (fathoms in 4 shackles +1)
