Geocache Description:

Maker Madness!!!

ShabbyDo's Maker Madness Event!

So there are a few of you out there that know I love to build. The Crazier, more inventive, or just plain fun, THE BETTER! So When I saw Geocaching was sponsoring these events, it was like they were speaking to me..... well. me, and all the other super fun and creative builders out there. There are many, and I am going to try to tap as many of there fun people as I can think of. This event is all about getting your creative juices flowing! A wise cacher that I know lives by the code, "A cache that either the cache should be interesting in some way or it should take you to an interesting location." This will be the theme of this event, because making a cool cache isn't about your ability to build, but the ability to draw you in. This is achieved by either building the crazy, fun, weird, odd, smile-inducing cache. But also teaching us something, showing us a part of this world, we didn't know existed, or just something plain FUN!

Events:

I'm not totally sure just yet, I'm just starting the planning and pooling resources, but I evnision:

  • A showing of fun already made caches
  • Some Original caches that you will get a sneal peak on
  • Scouting party to go fix a cache!
  • Tools and starters to build your own interesting caches
  • Plenty of conversation of out sucesses and our failures
  • What our mindset is on building
  • Sustainability- What to do when it breaks
  • Hopefully a brand new ShabbyDo cache in my front yard to claim FTF on! (I promise it will be fitting with this theme

Location:

The new Shabby Shack! Hopefully the weather cooperates and most of this will be outside! (I hope our new neighbors are ready!)

What to bring?:

  • Ideas
  • Snacks
  • Drinks
  • Lawn chairs
  • Any tools and cache starters you can think of!
  • KIDS!

TIME?:

Noon starts us off, ends when it ends. Officially we will say 4pm, but I have a grill is you want to put stuff on it and stay for dinner!

I am just now starting this event and am going to really depend on all of you for good ideas and help. I want both the O.K.I.C and MVGeocachers represented at this event. I made it at my house, so it's right in the middle of both of the cores of both groups. Lets pull together and make a great event. (It's my first event I'm hosting)
