It is had to explain, but somehow the idea of two people or groups of people competing in some sort of physical game was always fascinating. Even in ancient times, huge arenas were built with the sole purpose of allowing more and more people to watch the amazing spectacle of others fighting for the glory of their city, god or even for their own lives.
And with the passing of time, the games became more and more popular meaning more glory and fame for the participants. Wether we are talking about gladiators in anctient Rome or the athlethes competing in the greek Olympic Games, the winner would gain the respect of a city, a nation or in more recent times the whole world.
Not much has changed in the meantime. Some new games emerged while some of the ancient ones were lost in the history books. Today we will follow the life of a man. Not a man, but a Titan. I don't know wether Titans were a mere legend or not but if they existed, then he must have been a descendant of them.
1. Our story will start sometime in october 1990. That is when two countries became one. Little did people know that one of those two countries was the home of a Titan. But it did not matter anymore, those two parts of the same country are now history. A is the day of the month when this event happened.
2. Let us take a virtual trip to N 49 00.[AA1], E 008 24.[1(A+1)(A-1)]. This is the actual city where the Titan was born. Find out the year where that city was founded. B is the last digit of that year.
3. Go to N 49 01.[(B-3)00], E 008 24.[(B+2)8(B-2)]. This is the arena where it all started. This is where people could first witness the Titan but not all knew right from the start that a legend was born right in front of their eyes. Look up the postal code for the address of that arena, C is the first digit of that code.
4. We will now visit N 48 10.[(C-4)8(C-4)], E 011 32.[(C+1)00]. This was a very important place in the life of the Titan. This is a legendary arena where thousands of people came to see the him in action untill it was decided that even this arena was not good enough for such greatness so another one was prepared. But let's not get ahead of ourselves, check out the year when this older arena was built. D is the last digit of that year.
5. We will now travel across europe to N 45 28.[(D*3)8(D*2)], E 009 07.[(D*2)(D*2)0]. This is yet another famous arena that has seen so many battles. One day, this is where the Titan earned maybe the most important award of his life. Along with his allies, they became the best team of the continent. But this arena is special, because it has seem many champions. Two teams share this arena and together they won this same continental award a number of times. E is that number (the sum of the number of times those teams won the same award that the Titan won here).
6. Once again we will travel a great distance and meet at N 35 30.[(E-4)02], E 139 36.[3(E-3)4]. This is a lesser know arena, but a few years ago this is where a major event took place, one that can only be seen once every four years. This is where individuals find their roots, they abandon their allies and go back each to their country of birth, team up and fight for that country in a grand tournament. And for the Titan this was the chance to become champion of the entire world.
But this is not a happy ending story. For the Titan was injured, and he made a mistake, and in such events a mistake is all it takes. Little did it matter the kind of strength he demonstrated untill then or the fact that he was appointed the best player of that tournament - a distinction never before earned by someone with his role in a team. All it took was a moment of weakness and in that moment all was lost. Find out the minute when the disaster struck, F is the first digit of that number.
7. Go to N 48 13.[(F-5)(F-4)6], E 011 37.[(F-2)8(F-1)]. Do you remember something about a better arena for the Titan and his allies? You've found it now. This is where 66.000 people saw the Titan for the last time. I can still hear the crowd "Oli... Oli... Oli..." after Paul Potts finished singing "Time to say goodbye". It was on this arena also where some former allies of the Titan had a chance to follow in his footsteps and become the best on the continent, but luck wasn't to be in their favor... Not on that night. In fact what happened on that night was so unexpected that people were actually thinking the world might end by the end of the year. G is the sum of the digits of that year.
8. The final spot is at N 44 [2(A+4)].[(B-2)(C-7)(D-1)], E 026 [0A].[(E-4)(F-4)(G+3)] and this is where you will have to go yourself. It's a high spot but you don't have to climb, there are easy means to reach that exact spot. And from there you'll have a beautiful view over another arena. It may not look like much at first but some think it's magical, and from time to time it will bestow some of it's magic upon chosen ones.
We know not why, but the Titan himself witnessed some of that magic. He wanted to see it with his own eyes, and traveled there along with fellow countrymen of similar strength, and decided he will compete against a group of local peasants. And that's when, against all odds, the peasants prevailed, they even struck four times against the Titan. From the exact spot you are now, 10 years ago, you could see the scoreboard: Peasants - Nobility 5:1. There you can also find a small golden egg I've placed to honor this great champion. Even if he fell here, he was still "der Titan".
