曙橋は靖国通りの上に跨がっている、自動車と歩行者が通行できる橋です。1957年に開通しました。近くの地下鉄の名前もこの陸橋からで、名前は戦後に建設された時に、一般公募で採択されました。
脇には合羽坂（かっぱざか）がありますが、江戸時代のころはこの交差点に池があり、カワウソがよく現れたので、河童がでるといわれていたらしいです。
Akebono Bridge runs above Yasukuni Boulevard. Opened in 1957, cars and pedestrians can go over the bridge. The nearby subway station takes its name from this bridge, but the bridge name was selected from a community naming contest.
Next to the bridge is a slope called Kappa Slope. In the Edo period, there used to be a pond right around this intersection, and otters were said to live in this pond. People therefore said that kappa, a mythical water creature in Japanese folktales, appeared during heavy rainfall.
