Cabo de Santa Maria in the north of the island of Boa Vista, about 6 km north-east of Sal Rei. There is a 10 km long beach, Costa de Boa Esperança, on which a wreck is on display. The "MV Santa Maria" was a Spanish freighter, stranded there at 1st of September 1968 under still unexplained circumstances.
You can get there over a bad road from Sal Rei through the area of Boa Esperança "Good Hope". With very good weather, you can look across the Atlantic Ocean to the island of Sal from there. The remains of a wall runs along the beach.
