Another Great Spot in the Clemson Forest
The CCC Civilian Conservation Corps built many structures in the Issaquena Forest. One of these was the Issaquena Dam creating the beautiful Issaquena Lake. For this cache you wil go down Dam road, (the Seneca side of the lake) to a trail on your right after the Lawrence Cemetary. Follow this trail for a wonderful view of the CCC Issaquena Dam along a very nice point jutting into Lake Hartwell. The Cache is easy to find especially if you look for the clues. The trail is actually a loop trail that will take you back to the Lawrence Cemetary however the trail kind of gets hard to see after this cache. Just follow the Corps markings for the trail and look carefully as to see the trail wind up the hill along the former farm terraces. The trail is about 1 mile but add 1 mile in the winter because the gate is closed and you have to walk down the road a bit.
