Rose is a Rose is a Rose: a Flash Mob XI event Event Cache

This cache has been archived.

chaosmanor: We always allow three weeks after an event for folks to log it, retrieve trackables, etc. Yesterday was three weeks after this Mob, so it is time to archive it. As far as we can tell, the two trackables that are listed in it never actually made it to the event, as the cacher who dropped them in it never attended. We'll work out notifying the owners of those two, but thank you to everyone who picked up a trackable, for actually retrieving them. And thanks to all for attending!

Geocache Description:

Can everyone who attends this event sign the logsheet in fifteen minutes or less?

DATE Saturday, 7 June, 2014
TIME: 10:00am to 10:15am
LOCATION: The Rose Garden in Constitution Park, at the City Hall of Camarillo

Flash mobs are mini-happenings: a group of people suddenly appears in public, performs some brief action, then disperses. The concept was developed in a series of short stories by science fiction author Larry Niven, who called it a "flash crowd". The term "flash mob" is over one hundred years old, but it was first used in its current meaning in 2003, when over 100 people suddenly appeared in the home furnishings department of Macy's in Manhattan and gathered around an expensive rug.

In geocaching, the WWFM is a mini-event. Gather at the appointed time, sign the log sheet, chat for a bit, in this case enjoy the many different roses in the garden, then disperse for local caching or whatever. This will be the third straight year that there has been a WWFM in Camarillo. There will be a raffle of one (1) WWFM 2014 geocoin, at the end of the event.

Best off-ramp is Carmen; there is lots of parking on Paseo Camarillo in the City Hall lot; City Hall is closed on Saturdays, so they were happy to give us permission for this. Please do not use the church lot due west, there is plenty of parking near the garden.
