Geocache Description:

A series of 8 caches plus a bonus on a route of about 3 1/2 miles. The route is reasonably accessible for most as the walking is mainly on large (but sometimes muddy) easy-to-follow tracks, but the last few metres getting to a couple of the caches may be a bit more interesting (but not too hard or serious). Hopefully families will enjoy it. This is a route of small or regular sized caches - except one micro! (I couldn't resist)!

Little Doward is very close to the border of Wales being only a couple miles north of Monmouth and is very accessable as it just a few hundred metres off of the Ganarew turning on the A40 between Monmouth and Ross-on-wye.

It is the site of an Iron Age hillfort and the views from the top are pretty good. You can extend this short walk if you wish quite easily by heading towards King Arthurs cave from close to cache 5 (there is a direct footpath) where there is an excellent cache and several others nearby.

You will need to make a note of the clues in some of the caches to grab the bonus. Note that they are not in each cache.

This is the first of the series and should be an easy find to start off with. A small clip lock type tub.

Once found continue up the obvious track ignoring tracks off to the left and right.

Many thanks to The Woodland Trust for allowing me to place this series
