Saltholm is a place I've wanted to visit since coming to Denmark, but getting there isn't easy. Therefore I have decided to arrange a trip and give others the opportunity to come along. Part of the purpose of the trip is to look for geocaches, and part of the purpose is to visit this strange and interesting island. There are three traditional geocaches on Saltholm and there is a challenge cache on Amager that requires you've found one (or more) of them.
Space is extremely limited! The limit for the boats is 20 people, and three spaces are allocated to the organisers. We have booked two boats, a place on these costs 150 DKK each person. Because space is limited only 2 people per caching team can come. More people can come if you can arrange your own transport to Saltholm. If you are doing this, please consider letting me know if you have space to take more people with you. If you do this, you will arrange your own costs and meeting time and place. I will have a logbook for the event, which will be made available on Saltholm for people to sign if they wish.
A note about the conditions on Saltholm
After the storms in autumn 2013 the condition of the island is not good. There is debris all over, so it might not be as pleasant now as it once was. Moving around on the island will be difficult. Whilst this is a shame, it shouldn't stop us attempting to find the geocaches there. The owner of the boat says that it is possible that some of the geocaches will not have survived. I am in contact with the owners of the caches about whether they want maintenance performed on their caches. If necessary, I will bring spare containers for those caches.

The boats will not sail if the weather is very bad.
