Geocache Description:

The location of this cache is on an industrial estate – very easy access for everyone….but watch for muggles!

Having never seen RAF Martlesham in its military prime and living in the area, it seemed right to help others discover what remains of the old airbase with this series of Caches to take you to what is left.

Although there are a few old RAF buildings on this industrial estate, look up and behind Ladbrokes you will see the most prominent. A huge seven peak white hanger will be clearly in view with large sliding hanger doors.

This ‘B’ type hanger was built in 1927, according to some topics on the internet; this was the blueprint for the ‘C’ type hanger which became RAF standard for many years.

Here is an image of a Hurricane and a Spitfire sitting outside this hanger:

The Cache

You will find a small magnetic nano cache – it’s a busy area with business unit’s right where you are, stealth is required during the day, maybe take a seat and ‘have a feel!’
