A logic puzzle that will lead you to a small cache I received as an event prize a while back.
A property developer has managed to get approval for a 5 floor apartment complex in South City Beach on the beach front. This is a great spot to live and smart cachers have rushed to buy units in the development.
One geocacher lives on each floor, including Harry, and including one who likes traditional caches. Using this information, and the clues given below, work out which floor each of the cachers lives on, what kind of cache they each prefer and how old each cacher is.
1. Either the 27-year-old geocacher or the 35-year-old geocacher lives on the 1st floor.
2. The 5th floor geocacher is younger than Gary.
3. Mary is the 23-year-old geocacher.
4. The geocacher on the 4th floor is younger than the geocacher who likes virtual caches.
5. The 5 geocachers are; the one who likes puzzle caches, the 25-year-old, Mary, the 2nd floor guy, and the geocacher who likes event caches.
6. The 27-year-old geocacher doesn’t live on the 2nd floor.
7. The geocacher who likes event caches lives on the 1st floor.
8. Of Terry and the geocacher who likes puzzle caches, one lives on the 1st floor and the other is 42 years old.
9. The geocacher who likes multi caches is older than Sherry.
10. The geocacher on the 2nd floor is not Gary.
Now, let:
A = the sum of the digits of the puzzle lover's age
B = Gary's floor + the youngest's floor
C = Sherry's floor - the last digit of Harry's age
D = Gary's floor + Harry's floor
E = The sum of the digits of Sherry's age
F = the oldest's floor - 1
G = (Harry's age minus Terry's age) divided by the floor of the cacher that prefers multi caches
The cache is at S 31° 55.ABC E 115° 4D.EFG .
