These rivers and trails are our playground, so please join us to make them and the Earth a little cleaner.
Please bring mesh bags (if you have any) to stow the trash you retrieve along the river. Do not bring plastic trash bags, please. I will provide mesh bags.. *** * ** ** ** Minimum of one 5-gallon bag full of trash at PU to clear your conscious for logging as "attended".
Ideally, there should not be a need to leave your vessel for trash because unfortunately there is plenty in the river.
There are no official shuttle services for this section of the wolf. The best approach will be to deploy your vessel at Houston Levee no later than 8:20am (somebody will be there to stand guard) then drive your vehicle to parking under Walnut Grove bridge (see Waypoint) to stage. From Walnut Grove, I (and any volunteers) will depart at 8:45am to shuttle you back to Houston-Levee for launch.
Bring snacks, lunch, water, sunscreen, skeeter repellant and a sense of adventure.
