Geocache Description:

This cache is part of a small series along the New River Walk in Islington. The walk is a little under a mile and features a waterfall, a fountain, a water basin and plenty of wildlife.

This cache is located in Canonbury Gardens. You are looking for a cliplock box, large enough for a few trackables.

The New River Walk is a man-made park along the only remaining section of the original New River channel. Opened in 1613, The New River was created as an aqueduct to bring water from the River Lea in Hertfordshire to Amwell Spring near Sadler's Wells.

Adjacent to Canonbury Grove, the walk follows the New River as it runs above ground between St Paul's Road and Canonbury Road in Islington ending at the Myddleton Arms, named after 1st Baronet Sir Hugh Myddelton who funded the New River project.

The Canonbury Gardens are situated opposite The Myddleton Arms named after Sir Hugh Myddelton (despite the difference in spelling). Sir Hugh Myddelton was the driving force behind the construction of the New River and helped fund the project through to completion, obtaining the assistance of King James I.

Congrats to Pja_cz and N0madgirl for joint FTF
