Mr D’s Rivacre Valley Clean Up Cache In Trash Out® Event

This cache has been archived.

Mr Donut WP: This one's well gone now - thank you ever so much for everyone who attended and helped to clear the dogwood, I think Tim was very proud! There will hopefully be another CITO at Stanney Woods in September or October so keep your diaries free...

Geocache Description:

This is a CITO event held on the Sunday of the Geocaching CITO weekend, all attendees will get a souvenir off Groundspeak.

Rivacre Valley is 400 acre park situated in Ellesmere Port and up until the 1980’s, it used to contain one of eight open air pools that were in Wirral, sadly these are all now gone.  As part of the Geocaching CITO weekend, I have organised, in conjunction with the rangers at Rivacre Valley, a clean up of the park; which will involve jobs such as:

  • Cutting back vegetation
  • Completing some paintwork on bridges
  • Litter picking

AND

  • Anything else that the Rangers say on the day

Totem Pole in Rivacre Valley

The event will be held on Sunday 27th April 2014 at Rivacre Valley Country Park.  The above co-ordinates are for the car park and I would suggest that we meet there for 10:00 so that Tim Lloyd, the ranger, can give a briefing of what we will be undertaking and a Health and Safety talk.  There will be a risk assessment form that he would like people undertaking tasks to read and sign.  The plan is to work from 10:30 until about 13:30-14:00, have a lunch and tea break and then find some new caches.

Lady Wasmiss (Jan) has kindly agreed to provide teas, coffees and juices for the event, and as a reward for your hard work, there will be some caches going live.

Thank you to Tim Lloyd for allowing us to hold this CITO event.

It will be great to see you there!

UPDATE:
Tim the Ranger has been in contact with me and he says that there will be a risk assessment form for everyone to read and sign (council regulations/procedure) and he has requested that anyone who is interested in cutting back dog wood/other vegetation, brings their own loppers as they only have 12 to go around. If you don't have a pair, I'm sure we can double up or you can use one of Tim's.

See you Sunday!!
