Geocache Description:

This traditional cache is located by the remains of a wooden jetty that is essentially all that’s left of Deptford Power Station; London’s first mega-sized power plant.

Specialist rope climbing equipment is required and the cache is only accessible at low tide. There is no access from above.

At GZ, there is little in the way of base anchors so a canopy anchor is advised. Please ensure that your ropes are over the metal structure and do not rely on the strength of any old piping!

Deptford Power Station was a coal-fired power station on the south bank of the River Thames at Deptford, south east London and is regarded as the first modern high-voltage power station in the world.

The power station was closed in 1983 and demolished several years later.
