This trail is great for the family who loves to be outside adventuring through the trees and mud or simply for those of us who are big kids ourselves! Sturdy footwear is essential as is plenty of time to complete the trail and make it back to the cafe for a well deserved cuppa before hometime. It goes without saying it gets clarty here after rain or high river levels so take care and stay safe.
Parking is available at the Plessey Woods Visitor Centre during daylight hours
Red, Orange, Yellow and Green are located within the Plessey Woods Country Park and have been placed with the kind permission of Northumberland County Council.
Blue, Indigo, Violet and Pot of Gold are located on the Blagdon Estate. Blagdon is a working estate with ongoing woodland maintenance and is regularly used by shooting syndicates. Permission has kindly been granted for geocaching on the provision that we use the public footpath and do not enter the woodland beyond the treeline - THIS IS FOR YOUR OWN SAFETY.
On the Blagdon Estate none of the caches are further than 6m from the public footpath.
Red: Follow the trail up the hill to the diagonal tree. You need to be tall or nimble for this one! Slippery when wet.
EXTRA NOTE added 21/7/15 - while the obvious route to this cache is up the slippy bank, please check out the map for the very simple, safe, non slippery approach from the top!!! That's the way we go
