This series is based on the Netflix series House of Cards. Although it was shot in Baltimore,
the opening sequence shows some impressive shots of DC. After taking
this quiz from the Washington Post, I thought it would be fun to start a Cache series based on the show.
Cathedral Heights Metro
In this case we are highlighting a fictional location. In the show a key scene is filmed in the "Cathedral Heights Metro Station." There is no Cathedral Heights Metro. Although, in the first season of the show they do film inside a real metro station, the Washington Area Metropolitan Transit Authority has strict rules about filming inside real stations. One of their rules is no depiction of illegal activity.
For those of us who live near by, we can only wish we had a metro here, but we have buses instead, maybe some day....
This cache is in a pocket park near the National Cathedral. Although, you can't access it by Metro, you can get there on two bus lines, the N series and the 30 series buses both stop near by. This area also has more parking available than downtown. It is also not too long a walk from the Woodley Park Metro.
