This is a regular geocache fitting the above criteria. It is placed with permission within the safety zone at Charlie Elliott Wildlife Center (CEWC). The 6,400-acre Charlie Elliott Wildlife Center, managed by the Georgia Department of Natural Resources, offers a variety of activities and programs.
CEWC offers geocaches located along several roads or hiking trails; the red trail, the blue trail and the yellow trail. Parking is found at two different locations and several trail heads begin at each parking area. One parking area is at the Charlie Elliot Visitor’s Center and the other at the Brooke Ager Discovery Center. All visitors to CEWC who are not part of Conference Center group need to have a GORP pass or a WMA license which can be purchased here.
It is possible to do all of the geocaches by walking one continuous loop on the three trails mentioned. The entire loop is about 3.5 miles. All geocaches are within the hunting safety zone where no hunting is allowed. Be sure to check out the Charlie Elliott Visitor’s Center while you are here.
More information about CEWC can be found at (visit link)
As you geocache and hike, please stay on the trails! The cache is about 25 feet off the trail and bushwhacking is not necessary. Take time to enjoy the woods and the walk as you find this geocache!
