St Peter’s Church in West Molesey is an Anglican Church within the Diocese of Guildford and the Deanery of Emly. West Molesey was mentioned in the Domesday Book and a Church has stood on, or near, this site for hundreds of years. The present Church was finished in 1820, with the tower, which is thought to date back to 1440, standing as its most historical feature. The clock on the tower is 40 years older than Big Ben in London and was repaired and restored in 2000.
Originally it is thought to have been part of the foundation of St Peter’s Priory in Chertsey, later to become a Chapel of Ease to the Parish of Walton.
The Church is also the oldest building in Molesey and would have been in place during the War of the Roses. Located around a mile from Hampton Court Palace Henry VIII would have been very familiar with the Church as it would have stood in the middle of his old hunting ground.

“If anybody would like to expand to this series please do, I would just ask that you could let Sadexploration know first at churchmicro@gmail.com so he can keep track of the Church numbers and names to avoid duplication.
There is also a Church Micro Stats & Information page found via the Bookmark list”

To find the cache you will need to find the following ABCDEFGHJ from the information given below.
There is a small car park near to the Church (see additional waypoint) but if the car park is full there is plenty of off road parking near to the cache.
The listed coordinates will take you to the entrance of the Church where you will find a blue notice board with the phone number for Baptisms, Funerals, Weddings and Hall Bookings, substitute the letters for the relevant numbers = 0208 ABCDEFG
Once you have these numbers written down walk through the lychgate around the (570+ year old!) Church tower to 'Stage 2' where you will find a bench placed in memory of two couples. First find the number of 'E's' in the first name of the first couple. This will give you H. Then count the number of 'I's' in the surname of the second couple. This will give you J.
The cache is NOT located in the Church or cemetery grounds but a short walk away at;
N51 (C-B)F . (C-E)G(A-C)
W000 (G-F)(E-G) . (J+J)(G-F-J)H
Be careful if you have Geokids as the entrance to the Church is very close to a busy main road.
The cache is a small key lock box and contains a log book and pencil.
Happy hunting!
