Geocache Description:

This cache is at the posted coordinates.

You may find the cache and sign the log book at any time, but you must also complete the challenge below to log this find online.

The two-letter North American postal service abbreviations are all capitals with no periods. They are not set apart by commas and are used only with addresses on letters, envelopes, and packages to be mailed.

There are 10 Canadian provinces and 3 territories as well as 50 states in the USA for a total of 63 jurisdictions. Add in Canada (CN) and the District of Columbia (DC) for a total of 65 places. The challenge is to find caches anywhere in the world that contain a separate 2-letter postal abbreviation within their GC codes representing all 65 provinces, states and territories.

Or here is an alphabetical list of the states and provinces.

Note:Only the 50 states and DC are needed, not the outlying US territories.

The rules are simple:

  1. You must have logged a find for 65 separate caches whose GC code contains a 2-letter postal abbreviation for each province, territory, state and country.
  2. Since there are letters that are not used in GC codes, in order to make this challenge work here are the substitutions you should use:
    • Letter O becomes Number 0 (zero)
    • Letter I becomes Number 1
    • Letter S becomes Number 5
    • Letter U becomes Letter V (so you can use V for both U and V)
    • Letter L becomes Number 7
  3. The "GC" prefix that is part of every geocache code does NOT count as part of any abbreviation. For example GCTN4H cannot be used for Connecticut (CT) but is acceptable for Tennessee (TN)
  4. Any cache found at any time anywhere in the world is valid, whether archived or still active, so you may already qualify for this challenge.
  5. Each cache may only be used for a single state or province. For example, GCNV45 can be used for Nevada (NV) or Nunavut (NU) but not both. GC1N5K could be Indiana (IN) or Nova Scotia (NS) or Saskatchewan (SK) but not 2 or all 3.
  6. The place letters must be next to each other and cannot be separated by another letter or number. For example, GCM1A3 is valid for Michigan (MI) or Iowa (IA), but not Massachusetts (MA).
  7. You must list your qualifying caches, including the cache name, GC code and abbreviation used, in either a log entry or as a bookmark list attached to this cache.
  8. Feel free to sign the log at any time and log a "note" on the cache page when you do so. But you may not log a find online until you have completed the requirements.
  9. This cache does NOT count towards 1 of the 65.
  10. Since Canada and California share the same abbreviation (CA), Canada will be represented by CN.

High muggle area at various times of the day so exercise stealth. The cache only has room for a log so BYOP.

There is a certificate for FTF.
