Geocache Description:

In The Trenches

The second cache in the series of WW1 to mark the start of the great war and the men that paid the ultimate price.

The trenches were where most of the war was conducted and which at the sound of the whistle men went 'Over the top' to attack the enemy. Thousands of men lost their lives trying to cross no mans land hoping to defeat the enemy. Life in the trenches was bad to say the least constant wet underfoot lead to what has become known as 'Trench Foot' a condition that made skin become swollen and begin to rot and die. Sanitary condition were also poor and many of the men became sick with the poor hygiene.
