Back in the 60's there was a semi-permanent tent platform/camp here. As far as I know it was state land even back then but there was a sign at the end of the access road. "Bramhall" or something similar. I can't remember the exact spelling. I'm guessing they had a long-term camping permit or some such thing. I never met the people or at least I don't remember.
There are a few of us that still refer to the spot as "Bramhall's" The area where the tent platform and camp was is starting to fill in with small firs and pines, but there are still some remnants of the old camp. The snowombile trail goes through and uses part of the old camp road. You can easily walk, ski, snowshoe, or snowmobile to this spot, or come in by boat in the summer.
