As geocachers, there are many examples of opposites which we encounter in our adventures.

battery

Batteries

Batteries present one of the more basic examples of opposites which we run into, usually before we even head out the door to search for a geocache. They have a defined positive and negative end, which need to placed correctly inside your GPSr in order for it to work!

Math

Math has many types of opposites; addition and subtraction, multiplication and division, etc. These tools give us countless possibilities for creating puzzles, describing stages of a multi, or counting how many finds you have!

compass

Compass

Although many have moved past the use of just a compass for finding their way around, the compass with its magnetic arrows is still a very powerful tool. Simply knowing what direction your are going, North, South, East, or West, is important. Do you still remember how to use a compass, or have you ever tried to find a geocache using one?

Cache Size

We see many different sizes of geocache out there, ranging from the tiniest little magnetic nano, up to the large caches which can be wardrobe sized, or even bigger! If you are looking to trade some swag, it is unlikely you will have much luck unless you find some bigger caches.

water

Water/Ice

The difference between water and ice is quite obvious, especially to us geocachers. It can be the difference between paddling through rough waves and strong wind to that island cache in the summer, or simply taking a leasurely stroll to the same cache in the winter.

Day or Night

Day and night are as different as things can get when it comes to geocaching. The day allows you to see in lots of hidden places, and find that tiny geocache in the cedar tree. At night some of things become much harder, but also many new opportunities for creative caches are available, such as hidden UV information, fire lacks, and lasers! Go find some night caches, you won't regret it.

Geochecker

A common sight on your favourite puzzle pages, the geochecker. It doesn't get much more opposite than correct and incorrect. Make sure to use this geochecker to see green or red to determine if you managed to solve the puzzle!
