The Detention Barracks Road is as a Resource Conservation Zone. It starts off as a good road, has many steep hills and eventually the path fizzles out and you may end up trudging through thick brush. This particular section of the road is only a path.
The cache is at the end of the trail before the junction crossing with Timmons Cove and the Fraser Farm trail.
