My Advisers, My Mentors, My Friends: I Thank You Multi-Cache

This cache has been archived.

mcmannis87: It had a good run while it lasted, unfortunately, it is becoming a bit difficult to maintain. I have decided I will archive it and turn a few of the stages into individual traditional caches.

Geocache Description:

This is my first attempt at a multi. I kind of bit the idea off of jeffgamer's "Identity Theft" multi-cache. I have been home from the Army for a little over a year now and it was about a year ago I began this lovely hobby of geocaching. Throughout the year I have gotten to know a few members of the community and almost every one of you have been awesomely welcoming. Most of you have helped me at least once or twice. Some of you have mentored and/or advised me. Some of you have even befriended me. And still, some of you have done a combination of the above, or even all of the above. It is greatly appreciated, so much in fact, I have designed this multi-cache just for those of you who have been my helpers, mentors, advisers, and/or friends. Thank you. I apologize in advance if I didn't mention your name; I do only have a grunt-sized brain.

The first stage is at the posted coordinates and each stage contains the following set of coordinates, as most multis go. The distance between each stage is not far and the cache in its entirety is only roughly 1.5 miles long. You can drive the first .8 mile, but when you reach the gate, you must park and bike or walk the last .7 mile.

The park is open to the public from dawn until dusk. Please be sure to only cache during daylight hours, sunrise to sunset, as I've given my word to management that no one will enter at night. And honestly, you don't want to as this area becomes a hang out for the deviant types at night anyway. Please don't stray too far from the dirt road, all stages are quite close to it. Also, please do not disturb any wildlife you may come across. And of course, have fun and cache on.

Stage 1
This stage is dedicated to arielbaez. He is a recent connection in the south Florida geo-community for me. I have seen his name a few times throughout the past year, but only started speaking to him recently when I requested help on his uv-required multi-cache "Vintage Style". What I thought was going to be a quick Q&A help convo turned into a long discussion filled with advise on geo-shopping. Thanks for all the help and advise arielbaez.

Stage 2
This stage is dedicated to APawInMyFace. I haven't had too much experience with Paw aside from his responding via email to my requests for help on a few caches. But the highlight was our meeting of eachother at "Leyla's Cache". When I stepped out of my car I saw him pull up and walked over to the gas station to kill time til he left. Upon my return I saw him standing with his girlfriend near my car with a deer in the headlights look as if I had caught him doing something he wasn't supposed to be doing. "Must be geocaching" I said. We had a good laugh and all teamed up to make that find. We spent quite a bit of time there too, due to all the Red Herrings. We eventually made the find and shot the stuff a bit longer. Overall he and his girlfriend gave me an enjoyable night, and for that, I thank you APawInMyFace.

Stage 3
This stage is dedicated to MagicHack99. MagicHack had to help me on literally every stage of his multi-cache "Homage to the King". Granted, I was a new cacher at that time and more than likely would not have needed much help at this point. He could have easily gotten frustrated with me and blown me off but instead, he showed extreme patience in helping little by little til I made the finds without just giving it away to me. Thank you for the help and the patience MagicHack99.

Stage 4
This stage is dedicated to LingDynasty. Ling became my neighbor upon my move from Doral to Homestead back in December 2013. She and catfishpeppey are nonstop beating me to all the FTFs down south. But hey, there's no grudge here. Ling has been a lot of help to me with a few hard finds, including the impossible "High Voltage". Thank you LingDynasty and I have expectations of you and peppey getting this FTF.

Stage 5
This stage is dedicated to eeb3. She is a recent connection for me in the community. But she came to my rescue while stuck on Stage 8 jeffgamer's "MDC Multi Madness" multi-cache and saved me from the certain insanity I was on the verge of reaching. For that, I am vastly grateful. Thank you for the help eeb3.

Stage 6
This stage is dedicated MulderNScully. Boy do I have a funny story about Mulder. When I first returned from the Army, I was living a vacation with no work or no school, basically no responsibility at all, for a few months. It was incredible. Since then real life has happened but back to the story. Due to all the time I had on my hands, I was caching night and day, logging one after the other and not stopping. Mulder wanted to see if I was really caching or if I was just someone logging finds from home. So one day, while I was caching away, Mulder tracked my every log, getting closer and closer on my trail. Eventually he was so close he was able to predict the next cache I'd go for and met me there. I was quite impressed. He then invited me to my first event where I met a few others in the community and shared some beers and laughs with new friends. Thank you for the warm welcoming Mulder and I'm glad I was able to prove my realism. BELIEVE!
There is some swag at this stage but you're not at the final yet.

Stage 7
This stage is dedicated to Wall--E, the trouble-maker. Ya we homies. lol. Wall--E has helped me on a few occasions. He even offered some advice in the making of this very cache. Furthermore, he has stood up for me while I was the topic of negative gossip and I wasn't there to defend myself. Wall--E is an overall awesome dude and I am really glad to have met him. Thank you for everything Wall--E.

Stage 8
This stage is dedicated to jeffgamer, the puzzle man. I have found his caches to be some of the most fun I have ever had while at the same time banging my head against walls. I am positive I have sent him emails requesting help more than I have anyone. I honestly don't know how he hasn't gotten tired of me by now. He always offers just enough help to let me still make the find on my own, kind of like a weight-lifting spotter. He also advised me on placing my first cache "Where Does All The Flood Water Go?" He is one of the cachers who I can say has helped, mentored, advised, and befriended me. Thanks jeffgamer and cache on.

Stage 9
This stage is dedicated to HurricaneJuan. I have had to restrain myself from emailing Juan for help on more than one occasion in an effort to avoid becoming a pest. lol. But none the less, everytime I request help, he sends it my way, no questions asked. Thanks for the help HurricaneJuan. Go Canes!

Final
This stage is dedicated to auyantepuy. He is the first cacher I ever received help, advisement, and mentoring from. Since then he has been there everytime I have sent a help request his way. Thank you for geo-grooming me auyantepuy and cache on.
FTF gets a crisp 5 dollar bill (minus the crisp).
PS - there is also a decoy at this stage
