Geocache Description:

This cache is placed along a road leading down to Lake Ontario in the Second Marsh area.  It is a smaller lock and lock with room for a coin or two but not much else.   It is a tree climb, but not too bad. The surrounding area could be quite wet at certain times of the year

The SECOND MARSH WILDLIFE AREA is a 123 ha coastal wetland located in the southeast portion of Oshawa, and is unique in being the largest remaining wetland in the GTA.

The Second Marsh Wildlife Area has marsh, swamp, wet meadows, a barrier beach and woodlot habitats.  Over 380 plant species, 106 mating pairs of bird species, numerous species of mammals, reptiles, amphibians, fish and hundreds of species of insects make their home here or stop and it is a major stop on the migration paths of many species of birds.  There have been 305 different types of birds spotted here.  It has lots of trails including a boardwalk through the Ghost Road Bush.  It is a great place to get out and enjoy nature and has some wonderful geocaches too :)
Dogs are not allowed even on leash except for on the paved trail, so please leave them home if you are coming for this cache. Congratulations to Fishn4Me and Skyecat for FTF!
