Whether you’re a Social Butterfly or a Nature Lover, a Stats Geek, Traveler, or Puzzler, it’s time to attend this:

'Maker Madness Celebration Event'!!!

What is a 'Maker'? Well.... if you have purchased and/or created, then published at least one geocache, then you are part of an elite group called geocache "Makers". Your magical formula for making a geocache weaves a clever container, the right location and possibly a little bit of storytelling into a big adventure for others. The rest of you are only one 'cache purchase/build and publish' away from being part of that same unique group!

'Maker Madness' celebrates these 'Makers' and runs March 28 through April 7 this year. So along with thousands of others around the world who will be participating in similar events, we'll be celebrating those 'Makers' who create and publish geocaches with a easy-going, low-key, laid-back 'Maker Madness' event here in the Quad Cities!

Here is a little Maker Madness video: [VIDEO].

At this QC event, we'll share tips and techniques for making great geocaches (and hides), and stories of awesome caches we've run across over the years.

I'll supply a simple, generic, 'Maker Madness' cache building/placement basics outline that I've put together using the expertise of several local geocache makers. From there, you can take the discussion with your friends and new geocachers in any direction you choose to go, or just relax and listen to the conversation of others.

You're also welcome to bring both 'finished' containers to show to others, and also 'unfinished' containers (plus camo tape, spray paint, tethers, etc.) and build containers at the event. I'll check my storage room and will bring any extra containers and camo gear I have laying around for those in attendance who might want to create a cache to hide.

For newbies and even those who have never geocached before, please come and ask questions, learn the basics, and learn hints and tips from experienced 'Makers'.

For experienced 'Makers'/cachers, share stories of your favorite hides, and caching building tips, techniques, and tricks.

NOTE: A (valid) logged attendance at this Maker Madness Event earns you both a digital 'Maker' Souvenier on geocaching.com, and a certificate of attendance that you will receive at the event!

NOTE: All attendees signing the event log book will also be eligible for a couple of 'door prizes' in a drawing that will be held at the event. (one is an unactivated Trackable Travel Bug Tag)

NOTE: There are 'Maker Madness' clothing, patch, etc. items available on http://shop.geocaching.com for those who are interested.

Be part of the 'Madness'!

Mark your calendar to attend on April 5th!!

I Hope to see you all there!
