The Cardinal Greenway is a private not-for-profit organization which purchased 60 miles of the abdicated CSX railroad line in 1993. The Wysor Depot in Muncie was also purchased at that time. The neglected depot was restored and is on the National Registry of Historic Sites.
The first ten miles of asphalt trail opened in 1998, with subsequent sections opened since then. It is now the longest rail-trail in Indiana.
Trailheads are available about every five miles with car parking, benches, and seasonal port-a-lets. The Greenway is open dawn to dusk.
Cache is placed with permission of the Cardinal Greenway. Please respect the rules, e.g. keep pets on leash, do not block trail, stay to the right, do not disrupt environment nor trespass on neighboring property. Rules are posted at each trailhead. Available dawn to dusk only.
Cache is a bison tube. Bring your own pen. Let me know if a new log or other owner maintenance is needed. Please log dnfs so I will know if the cache needs to be checked.
