Meg-a-Cache 410 Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

StrattonRob: Well, I guess this is another one that's run its course. I don't have ties to the town anymore and it's been replaced a couple of times . It was a tribute to a good friend who I was able to get into this great hobby for a while....hoping someone can put some caches in this town once more.

Geocache Description:

A magnetic key holder placed near the entrance to the NJ Transit Station in Roselle Park, NJ.

I've seen many caches named after my fellow geocachers, so I thought it's time that my dear friend, Meg410 be honored as well.    Just a couple years ago, she responded to a geocaching post on my Facebook timeline asking "what the heck is this?".    In April 2013, I invited her to come to an NNJC meeting.     That day she learned so much and made a lot of friends.  Pretty soon she was out on the trails and participating in many events.   She also does her part by replacing wet and torn logs with new ones, as well as baggies and containers.   I am proud of her!

We also shared a lot of milestones as well.   Back on September 7, 2013, myself and Meg found "Call Me Maybe" across the street at the 7-Eleven; it was my 500th find and her 100th.   We took pictures of our find at the train station.  Unfortunately that cache is now archived, so I though it would be a great opportunity to put one here in tribute to my good friend.     We both grew up in this great town and we graduated from the High School in the 1970's, thus this is a great legacy to her. Also congratulations on her 500th find on 3/12/2014 on "Heart of the Dragon".   Cache on Meg, this one's for you!

The nearby station, part of NJ Transit's Raritan Valley Line, was built in 1967 when the Central Railroad of New Jersey rerouted it's main line from Jersey City, to Penn Station.   The railroad is the old Lehigh Valley Railroad which dates back to 1832.    The line still handles freight trains. If you're a rail fanner, the platform on the station is a perfect place to observe these cars.

CONGRATULATIONS TO TRICKERY FOR THE FTF!!!
