Solve the puzzle and then go find the cache.

Have you ever wondered why quadsinthemudd is called quads? Here is your chance to find out and earn a smiley. To solve this puzzle you will need to do a bit of research to answer some questions.

Below are pictures of some quads. Some people call them 4 wheelers or ATV's, but we call them quads and have enjoyed riding them through the woods and mountains where few can go for years. Once we started geocaching, it was another way to join with caching friends to mix two of our favorite things.

So now onto the puzzle. In the gallery, you'll find pictures of some quads. You will need to find out what they are from the pictures and do a bit of research to learn about them so you can answer the questions and reveal your prize; a smiley.

To solve, obtain numbers for the story below and fill them in the corresponding place in the coordinates.

My first quad had a small displacement but still had enough power to move my big butt around the trails. Small displacement, high revving 2 stroke motors generate a surprising amount of power for their small and light size. My quad had to haul around 250lbs of awesomeness with only 1AA cc's of displacement.

In 2012, I finally was able to get another quad. I had to sell off my quad after the boys were born. It was a long wait, but finally power & speed are just a throttle blip away! Bone stock and in great shape, I was able to purchase my new quad from a guy who was having a baby and needed a little bit of money. I always wanted the ease of owning a fuel injected quad, and my quad was the first year they built this motor that had fueled injection. Use the last two digits in the year. 20BB

My second quad was a 4 stroke that had more torque at a lower rpm than my first ride. Since my awesomeness had increased by a few pounds, the extra torque helped move me up the hill climbs with ease. This quad really loved the woods and had the torque to stay in a gear even if it lugged the motor a bit. Electric start was a plus, but reverse was the best feature on my quad for woods riding. When out racing my friends in the flats, C gear really helped use that torque to get me a few extra MPH.

Mrs. Quad's benefited from a husband who was willing to drive all the way to Montana to get her a quad worthy of her riding skills and big enough for me to borrow ;) Mrs. Quad's ride was the first year this quad was made available, and back then it was filled with the latest and greatest technology. The motor was the largest displacement ever put into a utility quad at that time and has D valves per cylinder with E intake valves. This motor makes tons of power to throw some serious mudd. When your eyes trick you into thinking the mudd hole isn't that deep, you can lock in your front differential for true four wheel drive to pull you out of your mess. So, with all that power, you are going to get airborne. It is just the laws of physics, but when Newton's law of gravity brings you back to earth, the F.5 inches of rear wheel travel will gently set you back down.

Duchess of Dirt is advanced well beyond her years so she was able to get a quad way before the boys. When I was looking for a quad for DoD, I wanted a quad powerful enough to take her on real trails but safe enough for a 9 year old to handle. Her quad is 5 speed with an auto clutch so she can stay in a gear to limit her speed with 1st gear being real low and slow. The engine compression braking keeps the full time four wheel drive quad under control going down steep hills. The motor is powerful enough that even an adult can hang with full size quads out there. The suspension is strong enough that I can jump her quad while out riding and fill up the the G optional racks with a cooler or any other gear we need for a day or weekend of riding.
