Geocache Description:

Simple Lock and Lock Box

 

Easy to find in a public area very close to the entrance of the famous theme park in Windsor. This theme park first opened in 1996. This was the first of its kind outside of Denmark. It is now the second biggest tourist attraction in the UK after the roller coaster place near Stafford, attracting on average 2 million visitors a year, and is 10th in the whole of Europe (attracting more than the original equivalent in Denmark). A hotel was opened on the site in 2012 and this is opposite the cache site.

This theme park occupies the site of the former Windsor Safari Park. This was owned by a circus family, who would provide essential Christmas Afternoon TV!! The lion cubs interestingly were 'farmed' out to willing local residents with big enough gardens. This was to protect them from the 'King of the Pride' who had a tendancy to eat small rivals!!
