"DRIVE" was released in 1984, the 3rd single from the HEARTBEAT CITY album and was THE CARS biggest international hit. It was written by Ric Ocasek and lead vocals for this song were sung by bassist Benjamin Orr. This is one of their slower songs that has been described as "a gorgeous ballad that matches heartfelt songwriting to an alluring electronic soundscape....a lovely melody that rises and falls in a soothing yet sad fashion".
