The Royal Crescent was the first to be built facing the sea, and was the first example of unified architectural design, planned as a single development by one man, J.B. Otto. That said, development ran for several years with breaks to secure more funds. From when it was finished in 1807 until 1820 it formed the town’s easternmost boundary. It is Grade II listed.
Because of it's modest size it is easy to overlook, but the black tiled exterior and first floor verandas make it one of Brightons finest pieces of design
