Annually, horseback riders will visit this area during the Spring. Most are from outside of the immediate area and they welcome the sunshine and dry side of the state. Some are geo-cachers and enjoy finding a few new hides when they visit.
I was going to name this cache "Horsemans Cache" for those horse back riders who visit here every Spring in March or April.I was out doing some cache maintenance on a few close by caches today and I wanted to hide one more for these riders. I spotted this small buttte and knew this was where I was going to place the cache. Once there, I came upon a rock blind that a bird hunter or maybe a deer hunter had built not to far from where the cache is placed. But when I came upon a discarded piece of a bicycle derailleur sprocket near GZ, the cache name then changed. to Riders Cache. Why this part was left out here will always be a mystery. But this mystery item will also become a valuable hint as it is very close to where this ache is hid.
