Geocache Description:

This is a cache in my sisters front yard. It is a good distance from the house along the roadside with trees to cover your approach. Quick P&G This cache is based on a Raggedy Ann story - ENJOY

I have loved Raggedy Ann for over 50 years ! This cache is based on one of the Raggedy Ann Stories. Reading the description BEFORE heading out to find the cache, will make the find that much more fun.

RAGGEDY  ANN  &  THE  KITE
Marcella had taken Raggedy Ann to watch the boys fly their kite.   Although it quickly rose up into the sky, it soon started doing loop-the-loops and crashed to the ground.  It was decided that the tail of the kite needed to be heavier.
As the boys had no more rags, Marcella volunteered Raggedy Ann to be the extra weight.  She was sure that Raggedy Ann would enjoy a trip way up in the sky.
Marcella soon tired of watching the kite - thinking that a tea party beneath the apple tree would be much more fun.  She asked the boys to bring down the kite and return Raggedy Ann.  The boys wanted the kite to go higher and had tied on another ball of twine.
Suddenly Raggedy Ann heard ripping sounds - the tail of the kite was tearing away from the kite - the wind caught up in Raggedy Ann's skirt and she sailed away.
The boys seeing the sad look on Marcella's face vowed to find Raggedy Ann.  They ran towards the house because it looked like  she fell into Marcella's yard, but they could not find her.   Indeed, Raggedy Ann did fall into the yard - landing in the fork of a large elm tree above the house.
Two robins lived in the tree, and seeing the nice soft yarn of Raggedy Ann's hair, asked if they might take some for their nest.  Raggedy Ann just smiled at  them - which they took as a yes.  After lining their nest, they propped Raggedy Ann so she was looking down into the yard.
In the morning, Marcella went to look out in the yard again.  The Robins often saw Marcella playing in the yard with Raggedy Ann, so they chirped and chirped until Marcella looked up at them.  Then, she saw Raggedy Ann looking down at her.  She ran to her father who was able to get her down.  Marcella was so happy that she shared her egg with Raggedy Ann as she ate her breakfast.
Cache is in my sister's front yard. She has given permission to place it here. There is a Raggedy Ann magnet for the FTF

Congratulations to sevencards for the FTF
