Geocache Description:


Naval aviation Nagoya base was used as base of flight training of Imperial Japanese Navy. From February 1945 it became training base of special attack unit. 56 trainees flew to Okinawa via Kagoshima Kokubu base as Kamikaze team Kusanagi and died.
Cache is near the memorial monument of Kamikaze team Kusanagi. PBYOP

名古屋海軍航空隊は大日本帝国海軍の練習航空隊として運用されていましたが、太平洋戦争末期の1945年2月より特別攻撃訓練生を養成することとなり、ここで訓練を受けた訓練生は神風特別攻撃隊｢草薙隊｣として4月から6月にかけて鹿児島県国分基地を経て沖縄戦に出撃し、計56名が散華しました。
キャッシュは草薙隊の慰霊碑付近にあります。ペンをお持ちください。
