Camp Two Fire Lookout tower was in a very unusual place. It was not on top of a mountain, but located in a very flat area at only 3,348’ in elevation. The 40’ pole L-5 tower was built in 1936 at the north end of the South Fork CCC Camp (aka Camp Two) about 10 miles from Butte Falls. The tower somehow looked into the drainages of Willow Creek and Fourbit Ford. At the time it was built the land was being logged by the Owen-Oregon Logging company. The tower had a very short history, destroyed in 1950. All that remains are the four concrete pillars where the tower stood.
Access to the area is very good. Any vehicle can drive within a few feet of the location. You are looking for a regular size container with a log book and trade items. Please rehide well.
