Geocache Description:

For information on Geocaching during Covid19 in New Zealand please visit www.wiki.groundspeak.com/display/GEO/New+Zealand .

This bison doesn't have much room and requires care to close correctly. A pencil has been provided but bring your own pen just in case (long walk back to the car) as photo logs are not accepted.

NOT HIDDEN ON CLIFF EDGE.

This is not designed to be a quick dash and grab, afraid you'll need to think on this one.The road is open 11am-3pm Monday to Fridays. The rest of the time you'll need to walk to the cache, allow at least an hour for this cache. Please keep the waypoint container hidden when solving the map, as there is a surprisingly high number of muggles about.

As a child born in the 80's, I thought I would celebrate this decade by designing some caches based on movies and songs ... you've guessed it that were released in the 1980's. The number in the lid was for the Born in the 1980's mystery cache (GC4YH9P) which has been archived.

This cache is based off a film released in 1980's..... (I'll let you try and guess the film as you wonder out to the cache).

The co-ords will take you to where you have to find the map.... after all how can you go on an adventure without one (please return for the next adventurer). Whilst it's hidden in the 'candles', I'd recommend that you don't light them.

Whilst gadgets are good they tend to go wrong, unless you're Data and can say things like "Pinchers of Peril, saved me from the spike pit". So the old school is the way to go, don't worry you won't need to play a series of chords on the bones to get the door to open.

The map will point you to the final cache if you can find a way to read it, it's not just an X marks the spot (you can leave it in the bag when solving). Once you have your bearing PLEASE RETURN the map to it's hiding place you don't need to take it with you.

 Whilst you could do this on your own, why not do this as a team effort and remember to watch out for the Fratellis.....I mean muggles.

As the hint section is long and some apps don't show it all I have copied all but the movie name here to help;

Hint for waypoint: Invisible glue at ankle height. If you were going to use the concrete step as cover... do up the right hand lace.

Mouth's hint for the map  [Spanish]: hay una mesa con las líneas, me pregunto si se alinean?

cache: hanging by post (but if the hook failed then someone may place by base)

Hint for the movie: Found the cache? Then do the Truffle Shuffle whilst keeping one eye open for a sailing ship.

Wish to attend New Zealand’s next large multi-day event? GCA7ZHD Geo Toroa will be held on NZ’s Labour Day long weekend 26-27th October 2024 right here in Dunedin. Details in the link below;
